Student-centered
Young people's passions, identities, and artistic practices become central to learning instead of being treated as distractions from school.

About Projet 4

Projet 4 brings 21st century innovations in high school education by combining the recording arts with a personalized, student-centered, cross-disciplinary liberal arts education.
From 'Studio 4' in St. Paul to 'Studio 4 Montréal.'
A Montréal-rooted nonprofit carrying a long lineage of school reengagement.
We work on behalf of professional artists ages 16-24 seeking a high school diploma. Our programs are built from a model refined for more than 25 years at the High School for Recording Arts and adapted locally through Montréal partnerships.

Our public frame
Projet 4 is the community-based nonprofit structure, and Studio 4 MTL is the programmatic expression where young people make music, earn credit towards their high school diploma, and build pathways towards the next steps in their lives.
Young people's passions, identities, and artistic practices become central to learning instead of being treated as distractions from school.
Programming is built around trust, voice, local context, and the cultures young people already carry into the room.
Studio work connects to formal academic progress through Quebec's DEAL and FADA systems while supporting artistic and personal goals.
